Frequently Asked Questions

1.How long does it take for Medicshala candidates to land a position and what does the job-searching process look like?

On average, it takes about 3 weeks to land a job through our program. During this period of time, our candidates get direct referrals, more interviews than they would get on their own, and eventually sign a final offer with their respective company. If this process looks longer for some, we are more than willing to continue to support them in their job search. We offer weekly 1-on-1 meetings among other services, to help support them during this time. It’s also important to remember that Medicshala is free until candidates are hired and actively being paid. The maximum duration of our program is 12 months.

2. What if I find a job by myself during the program?

Any job offers you receive and accept while using Medicshala will be included in the required income share. The income share that we offer is that you pay back 9% of your first 6 months income as you earn it in exchange for taking part in our program. Even if you did not find a job through Medicshala networking and referral efforts but were signed up for our program at the same time , we still require that you pay the Income Share Agreement as per the program’s requirements. This is because Medicshala not only offers job placement, but also educational services. This includes skills, strategies, interview preparation, and more that would contribute toward your job placement success elsewhere. Medicshala is more than just a job placement agency. We become partners with you in your job search by evaluating, training, and helping you prepare for every job opportunity.

3. Can I personalize my Medicshala experience to fit my needs?

Of course! The Medicshala program is completely personalized for your unique situation. We heavily modify the program to suit individual circumstances and never give you busywork. Instead, we invest time into helping you with whichever part of the job seeking process you could use more support with

4. What can I expect in terms of referrals through Medicshala?

While we make an active effort to execute on every single requested referral from our candidates, we’ve found that these referrals are typically only effective when the candidate takes advantage of the many interview tactics and skills taught during our program’s training. If we don’t have a direct connection at a particular company, we will teach you strategies and maneuvers to get a referral. We would not encourage you to enroll in our program if you plan to be a passive candidate, who just joined and waits for referrals.

5. How much time should I dedicate during the program?

Medicshala Job Search Accelerator Program is most effective for candidates willing to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to their job search based on our training assignments and strategy.

6. Will you help negotiate my pay?

Yes! We'll help you figure out if your offer is fair, if you could make more money, and if applicable, negotiate equity and other benefits as well.

7. What is an Income Share Agreement?

An Income Share Agreement is a contract between you and Medicshala. This contract allows you to receive training and assistance from us without paying for our service upfront unless you are currently employed and making over ₹20,00000 per year. By signing the Income Share Agreement, you’re agreeing to pay 9% of your first year’s pre-tax base salary over the course of 6 months to Medicshala.

8. What is the duration of the Income Share Agreement (ISA) contract?

The duration of the ISA between you and Medicshala would be 6 months. We put significant time and investment into our candidates during the program. If you land a job within 12 months, you are expected to pay 9% of your first 6 months pre-tax base salary to Medicshala. On the off chance that you don’t land a job during these 12 months of the ISA contract, you can withdraw from the program at no cost.

9. How much would I pay?

The Income Share Agreement is based on your income—it is not a fixed amount. You would pay us 9% of your first 6 months pre-tax base salary. For example, if we help you land a job with a salary of ₹12,00,000 per year , you would then make 6 monthly payments of ₹9000 only.

10. When do I start paying?

You start paying only after you have landed a job and have been working for at least a full month. After that, you would be making payments via monthly bank transfers over 3 installments. You also have the option of making a lump sum payment via cheque or Stripe.

11. How do I set up the ISA?

We partner with Leif, an Income Share Agreement platform, to manage the payment process when you land a job. The ISA is between you and Medicshala, but Leif’s platform helps ensure seamless application, signing, ongoing communications, and payments. If accepted into Medicshala, we will send you a direct link to enroll in the program at that time. It is a quick and easy process.

12. What if I quit the program, is there any fee I have to pay?

Our agreement duration is 6 months. If you don't land a job in 12 months, the ISA will be cancelled and you wouldn’t pay us for anything.

  • If you decide to quit the program before the end of week 1 (or in other words, within 7 days) of the program starting, you would be liable to pay only 1.5% of your first 3 month’s salary.
  • If you decide to quit the program after 7 days, there is no refund and you would pay 9% of your first 3 month's pre-tax base salary for any job you start within 12 months from the Medicshala program commencement date.

13. How does Medicshala differentiate between a job I got through the program versus a job I got on my own?

Even if you found a job not through Medicshala and you were signed up for our program, we still require that you pay the income share per the program’s requirements. This is because Medicshala not only offers job placement, but also educational services. This includes skills, strategies, interview preparation, and more that would contribute toward your job placement success elsewhere. Because of this, we aren’t able to differentiate between a job you landed on your own versus a job you landed with our help. Medicshala is more than just a job placement agency. We become partners with you in your job search by evaluating , training, and helping you prepare for every job opportunity.

14. What if I get fired from my new position, quit, or otherwise run into unexpected financial hardship while making the payments to Medicshala?

Assuming that you wanted to use our services again, we would pause the payments and help you find a new job in any of these situations. Once you were back up on your feet and financially secure, payments would resume where they left off. The payments would be adjusted based on your new pre-tax base salary. If you don’t find a job through Medicshala for a period of longer than 24 months, then the entire income share agreement is cancelled even if you’re not done paying it.

15. What happens if I get a job offer but I do not think I am a fit for the company?

We never pressure our candidates into accepting an offer that isn’t right for them. In fact, we encourage our candidates to use initial offers as leverage to get even better offers. You are always free to make your final decision; we never interfere in your decision making.
